Chloe Wohlforth

Partner, Angeles Wealth Management

Chloe Wohlforth’s father, Martin Phillips Wohlforth, died at the World Trade Center on Sept. 11, 2001, and that horrible event catalyzed, in a way, her career as a financial advisor.

“When I think back, the relationship my mom forged with her financial advisor in the days after 9/11, the type of connection they shared and advocacy for her in the months and years later, all that motivates me every day,” Wohlforth said.

“The big question my mom had was, were we going to be OK financially,” she said. “To see a stranger come in and sort her life out was very powerful.”

Martin Wohlforth, 47, was a managing director at the investment bank Sandler O’Neill and as Chloe Wohlforth puts it, in his prime earnings years. “What stuck with me was that financial issues for a family can happen at any moment,” she said. “Of course, I hope that that none of my clients go through anything close to that but there are variations of tragedy and financial insecurity we are working through every day.

“More than 20 years later, my mom’s financial advisor still remains a huge source of comfort,” Wohlforth said. “And I love what I do and am glad to be doing it here.”
